History through american girl

Join us as we explore history one American Girl story at a time!

Each class is designed to inspire curiosity through storytelling, creativity, and hands-on experiences. Students will journey through different eras of American history while discovering what life was like for girls who lived long ago.

Through crafts, games, interactive activities, and beautiful doll displays, history comes to life in a fun and engaging way. Every class encourages students to learn, create, and make lasting memories. Students may enroll in one semester or both.

Each semester features new historical stories, time periods, and adventures.

Ashley Skolits

Hello! My name is Ashley Skolits, and I'll be teaching History Through American Girl.

I am a lifelong American Girl fan with a love for reading, history, and imaginative play.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Primatology and Anthropology from Miami University in Ohio. After graduation, I spent several months in Tanzania studying wildlife and working with conservation efforts.

I later worked with a family of bonobos at the Cincinnati Zoo before stepping away from my career to raise my daughters. In addition to teaching with PEAK, I also host American Girl-themed parties throughout our community.

I love making history come alive through storytelling, imaginative play, and hands-on activities. In each class, I share historical dolls, books, clothing, and accessories from my extensive American Girl collection, giving students the opportunity to see and explore the stories they're learning about in a tangible way.

My goal is for every student to leave class feeling inspired, engaged, and excited to learn more about history.
